EPEF Is used widely in the industry and takes a number of factors into account.

 

To work out the EPEF you need the following information:

 

• Average Weight- This is the average weight of birds at slaughter this must take into account thinnings if birds where thinned.

 

• Average Age- Again this must take thinning agesinto account

 

• Survival Rate- We generally use Mortality rate, If your mortality was 4% your survival rate is 96%

 

• Feed Conversion- This can be worked out using the FCR calculator
